Event Support
Occasional opportunities to support events.
Description: Bernie is our therapy dog, and he needs a handler for outings such as PopUps, Block Parties, and Community Events. Learn his commands, allow him to mingle with people, and clean up after him.
Commitment: One hour per week, with occasional events as needed.
Skills needed: Desire to learn and grow, no experience necessary. Opportunity to be trained by certified trainer as desired.
Description: Greet guests with friendliness. Let guests in and direct them to the right people. Answer the phone, taking detailed messages or sending to voicemail as needed. Send, receive, and deliver mail and packages to staff. Preparing the area to receive guests: turn on the iPad for sign-in, turn on the hallway music, and turn on the slide show in the waiting room. Keep office fresh and welcoming.
Commitment: Occasional as needed to fill weekday, daytime slots.
Skills needed: Friendly, kind voice, and professional appearance. Ability to ensure waiting area is clean, fresh, and welcoming at all times.
Description: Help prepare items for (non-kitchen) events: assemble bags for the homeless, backpacks for students, treats for Soup & Soul guests, and other similar projects.
Commitment: Occasional. 1-2 hours per event as needed, flexible timing.
Skills needed: Willingness to learn and follow directions.
Description: Set up rooms for ministry and community events.
Commitment: Occasional, 1-3 hours as needed.
Skills needed: Some heavy lifting may be needed to set up tables, chairs, and other furniture; placing decor and table settings as needed.
